Thanks for every one’s concern, I am feeling much better!! I really enjoy having such good friends that I can count on. I don’t know why bad days happen, they are sooooo unnecessary! I think all of the extra treats I convinced Mom we needed did the trick!

It has been really cold here. I am talking about temperatures that barely get over 0 degrees. Crazy Mom and Dad had the idea to put socks on Dillon and I to protect our feet so we could go on a walk. Hello, we don’t wear human socks. It was a joke. I had one off before Dillon had his put on. Dillon starting taking his off before we could get out the door. Mom and Dad just laughed and took them off. We went on a very short walk that night. Mom later tried putting them on us again because of course she needed pictures!

Our Santa Paws pictures are here. We look  pretty good with that big red guy! I hope he agrees and brings us lots of toys and treats for Christmas!!! I wonder if the big guy will give me extra since it is my birthday too??? How could he resist our innocent faces?!?!

Thursday was a successful day, I went to see Dr. Barrera to get my blood tests. Good news, everything looks great! That means another round of oral chemo. Dad has to use rubber gloves to give me the pills. I wonder if they make me glow in the dark?!? He is very cleaver and thinks he is hiding the pills in peanut butter, but who is he kidding. Dad, I figured your trick out a long time ago with all my pain meds. Luckily, I love peanut butter and I don’t mind the pills. Opie, it’s the creamy peanut butter that always seems crunchy. I get a lot of it daily.

Saturday was pretty fun. Finally the weather was warm enough to go on an enjoyable walk. Dillon and I were beginning to go crazy being inside! Mom and Dad also cleaned the house and Mom brought out the dog eating machine. It was nice having Dad home because he protected us from that crazy thing. It seemed extra hungry this time because Mom hasn’t let it out of the closet for days.

After our chores were done we got to enjoy Bully sticks. Man they were good. I know what everyone is thinking, we get a lot of good treats, and you are right. I wouldn’t say we are spoiled, Mom and Dad are just enjoying us and making our tummies happy. The treats keep coming. Dr. Barrera told Mom that she was happy I had an appetite and I was gaining a little weight. She wants me to gain weight and not lose it because of the cancer. So she gave Mom the ok to feed me more, just as long as I don’t get obese.

Later in the day we went out for more pictures. We took these for Caira Sue. Her Aunt and Uncle used to live in our town and her Uncle created a couple of the bike racks. They are really cool and most people wouldn’t know they were bike racks, but my Dad did. Dad works across the street from one of the sculptures that Caira Sue’s Uncle created.

This sculpture is in front of the Rialto on 4th Street. Is this the right one Caira Sue?

During our mission to find all of these sculptures we found an ice sculpture of Santa Paws. Notice in the second picture the “Do Not Touch” sign, does it count if Dillon wanted to bite a chunk out of it? We love to eat ice cubes!!

    Hey there Peyton!
Don’t be scared of that vacuum! Me and my sister love that thing! I usually stare at it and bark at it sometimes but my little sister really wants to BITE it! That’s the crazy herding dogs in us coming out!!! 😉
Your silly Mom trying to keep those socks on you and Dillon! Hahaha!
Glad you’re feeling better…do you have a bad day weekly due to the chemo drug?

  2.   jack crowder Says:

We are soooooo happy things went great for you at the doctors on Thursday!
I am so jealous, you look like you had a lot more fun with Santa Paws than I did. Are all those presents in the picture for you and Dillon? I’m never going back.
Ask your mom to get you some socks that match your collars, my grandma told me your not supposed to wear white after labor day.
I gotta go, it’s dinner time.

Peyton, I always enjoy seeing all the pictures your pawrents post of you and Dillon… Looks like you are having alot of fun… except for those annoying socks, eh? Seriously, what were your pawrents thinking? ha! ha! 🙂

Wow! Socks! I love that Shelby knows all the rules on when to wear white! She’s such a princess!
The first bikerack is called “The Race,” I”m presuming because it’s all twisty and twirly? It looks like it was fun to make!
The 2nd and 3rd ones he didn’t make. The last one he did and it’s called “The Dawning,” not because he named it that, but because Loveland made a big typo! haha! But Mark being the easy going guy that he is, decided that Loveland was adding their own artistic twist to his art and how can you argue with art?
    Anyway, here’s his blog:
    http://markupsonsculpture.blogspot.com/
he just finally got it up and going because of my pestering him. He hasn’t put all his stuff on there, but maybe someday…
Funny enough, he’s here visiting this week with my sister! So I was able to show him your blog and pictures. He was excited. He said “good! That’s metals holding up nicely.” And I guess the rusting part is all in the right places. He created it to “age.” Metal-workers….geesh. Anyway, we are quite proud to have him in the family. Thank you so much for putting up these pictures of his work for us to see! Love that it’s still a part of the city and being used (which is how Mark likes his artwork-used as well as admired).

Peyton, for a dog living in those kinds of temperatures, you look pretty hoppy! Man, I can’t even imagine going outside when it’s cold enough to keep an ice sculputure all pretty. You didn’t pee on that thing, did you? just wondering.

That’s neat to know that Caira Sue’s uncle did those sculpures, because we’ve seen them!

Oh and hey if you’re looking for a great new restaurant to try, tell your Mom and Dad to check out CJs Sports Bar & Grill in the King Sooper’s shopping center off Eisenhower & the 402 (I think that’s the number). My Mom’s best friends’ hubby, Tony, and her moved out from CA to manage the place (his sister also owns Country Junction downtown), and the food is pawesome! They even have a dog-friendly patio there, although I imagine you wont’ want to sit out there in the cold right now. Your Mom can bring you a doggie bag though!

Keep on keepin on my friend. I can’t wait to see you again when we come back to Colorado in the spring!

  6.   Dane Mom Sue Says:

Oh come on, SOCKS? Humans can be so clueless sometimes. Last year Mom got me a some boot-socks, they were awful. I wouldn’t even let my feet touch the ground in those disgusting things.

It looks like you had a great time visiting Santa Paws.

    Peyton and Friends,
Thanks for all the great pictures. They are very inspiring. Our dog Yampa was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma last week. Took him to CSU to have bone scan and other tests. Doesn’t appear to have spread at this time. Will be back down to Ft. Collins this week for the removal the extra front leg. Wish us luck.

  8.   ldillon81 Says:

Awesome pictures!!! Good thing Peyton had his leg amputated, or I may not be able to tell him apart from Dillon! They are both gorgeous and look like they’re having an amazing time. Keep it up, Kiddies!!

  9.   krun15 Says:

OOh, I love the sock game! Mom tries to put socks or booties on me and I try and get them off. I always win!! Back when I was a quad-pug was the last time we played- there were never more than 2 booties on me at one time- so I win!

I don’t worry about the dog eater anymore, since I’ve lost some of my hearing it doesn’t bother me that much. My little sis Tani thought goes crazy- she barks at it, chases it, and grabs the rubber bumper part and drags it sideways. She starts barking when the door to its hiding place is opened!

    Thanks for sharing the pics.

What a beautiful webpage!! Peyton and Dillon you’re naturals in front of the camera! Cami, you journaling is great, so heart touching, and you had me laughing when I got to the socks part!! Way too cute!!! I love it, I can’t wait to show Stephanee today.

  11.   Opie Says:

Cami??? Cami??? Peyton, do you know what Charity is talking about? Does your Mom write your posts????

  12.   Opie Says:

Seriously, Peyton…Awesome job on this post. Your family looks nice and what a cool town to live in.

I posted on my blog today and put a picture of me looking at Nova’s blog. Do you know what my dad said? Man, you are going to laugh. He sees the caption “I Love Reading Nova’s Blog” or something like that and says, “Well that might make your other friend be hurt.” Whaaaaaa? Bwaaaahahahahahaha. uhm, yeah, Pop… maybe you missed it, but…Peyton is a dude! Our feelings don’t get hurt. Jeez…Pawrents.

Anyway. Fantastic post. You should be a writer and your mom should be a photographer.

  13.   peytonpawd Says:

Thanks for the compliments Opie, I have fun with my posts! I don’t know what Charity is talking about?! Mom ONLY types for me because it is hard to type with one front paw 😉 , but the thoughts and words are all mine! Mom and Dad take turns with the camera!! The blog is kinda of a family affair. Don’t worry I’m not hurt about you staring at Nova’s blog. She is a pretty girl!!! We are dudes and don’t get jealous.

  14.   Charity Says:

Sorry Peyton… Let me rephrase, Your journaling is WONDERFUL! Your mama does good typing it for you, and Mom and Dad does great with the photos of you and your handsome little brother! 😉

    Love ,
The sister In Law (Your Auntie)

PS Your cousin Claire says, “Hi”!!

  15.   wuerkerb Says:

    Peyton,
Glad we ran into you. You, Dillon and your mom gave us inspiration on a very tough day. We are home now and Yampa is tired, but doing fine.
    Keep fighting dude.
    Yampa, Lisa and Jeff

  16.   Opie Says:

Oh good. It was just a little misunderstanding. Thanks for inviting me to come see you in Colorado. That would be sooooooo awesome.

My mom says you and Dillon and and your mom & dad should come visit me in Alaska, too. We could go to my cabin on the Gulkana River and swim and swim and swim. I hope we can still swim with only three legs. I have a pfd for when we go out on the ocean, so mom says maybe I should wear it in the rivers and lakes when spring comes to help me stay afloat.

Anyway, we got about 5 inches of snow this week so I’m pretty happy. Our snow stays all winter and just continues to pile up. My mom and pop and I hate it when winter snowfall is slow because then it is hard to go cross country and snowmachining.

    Merry Christmas!
